So this is the last Lemon Inc. comic of part one. This will be where the first book ends. This was one of the first Lemon Inc. comics I ever wrote. I wanted to end part one by focusing on Andy’s personality flaws and I also wanted to end on a joke so when I was trying to come up with an ending I found this comic burried in a Word document and I thought it worked perfectly. Now that part one is finished I’m going to take a short break from the comic. There are multiple reasons for this. In short, I want to take some time to put together the first book and to plan out the next storyline. I also want to look into putting together a portfolio for college. This comic is soooo late. I think it’s pretty obvious why though. If you didn’t know, the title is taken from this.

I wanted to tie up all of the storylines that I had going on with this comic. I think it worked out really well seeing as I ‘d basically been making this stuff up as I went along. It’s cool that I got to bring Jeff’s bird suit back. I figure that he just wears his bird suit on all of his secret missions. Originally this was going to be the last comic of part one but I decieded that I needed one more for various reasons so now next week’s comic is the last comic of part one.

It’s a bit of a coincidence that the climax of this arc happened to line up with the 100th comic. If you’re sitting at your computer thinking “I don’t get it” then that’s because this particular comic wasn’t intended to be funny. I know this is a comedy but in certain instances I feel that it’s necessary to introduce a bit of drama. Don’t worry though, next week’s comic will be funny. This is the first dialogue-less comic that I’ve done. I just felt that it worked better without any words. I’m a fairly wordy writer so it was nice not to have to worry about fitting all the dialogue in for once and it was an interesting challenge to focus solely on the character acting.

Today is my birthday! I am eighteen! I guess that is kind of a big deal? This one wasn’t going to be late but I didn’t get around to inking it as soon as I thought I would and that set everything back. I haven’t actually done a night scene since 2009. I think this one looks better than that one did somehow. Fans of Gerald are definitely going to want to see next week’s comic.

Well, this comic is the exact opposite of anything I’ve done before in terms of both art and writing. I’ve nver really deviated from my usual art style in the comic before. I have considered doing so before just to experiment but I couldn’t find a good reason until now.  It’s the first time I’ve tried doing pixel art but I think it turned out pretty well. Actually, this is the first time I’ve even drawn a comic digitally.

I usually try to stay away from pop culture references in Lemon Inc, particularly videogame references since they’re so niche. I didn’t come up with the Funstatation storyline so that I could make videogame jokes. Originally Tommy’s character was going to want a bike or something but then I realized that for this generation a videogame console would be more appropriate. There’s also a lot more potential for jokes and storylines about the videogame console in general.

So originally when wrote this comic the joke was just going to be that Tommy wanted the Funstation so much that he was having dreams about it. Then I thought it would be a funny idea to have him in a alternate version of the Mario games where Mario was based on a different offensive racial sterotype. I was going to use an Asian Mario at first but I decided that a German Mario would be funnier. You might not have noticed but Klaus and Hans are actually wearing leaderhosen. What I ended up with is a comic that you probably wont understand unless you have played a Mario game which was not my intention. Oh well, I like it. Apologies to Nintendo.

…but I decided that it would be a bit too challenging.

Mini Wheats are called Mini Wheats but they’re not very small at all. As far as cereals go they’re actually pretty big. Now they have Mini Wheats “Little Bites.” They’re not very small either. They’re really just an average size for cereal. They should be called “Mega Wheats Average Bites.”

I wanted it to be clear in the last panel that Tommy is making no effort to get to work. It may have been more effective if I showed him sleeping or something but I thought this was more original. Thanks to The Silver Snail for the title!

If you can’t remember all of the incidents that Tommy is reffering to then firstly, shame on you, and secondly, you can refresh your memory here, here, here, here, here, and here. This comic is a bit more wordy than I usually like to make them but in many ways the joke relies on the sheer number dickish things that Andy has done and therefore requires this amount of dialougue.

Sorry the comic is late again. My neck hurts, and my hand is stuck in a pencil-holding posture but I finally finished this comic about Jeff in a bird costume. I hope you enjoy it. I also hope that this storyline makes some amount of sense to you now.

Wait… That didn’t explain anything that happened in last week’s comic! Come back next week. It will make sense then. I think. It’s worth noting that this is the first time that Andy is wearing his suit in the comic (although technically it debuted in Woody After Hours). Sorry this is a day late. For some reason they just take longer recently.
