Hi Jane. Glad you noticed the newspaper headline. I debated using various headlines for the newspaper. When I came up with this one I had to use it because it was the most ironic and since it’s a much discussed topic among the comic community.

Hi Tim. I really enjoyed this comic strip! The “Hip and Swanky” theme when contrasted with the “basically this is a Lemonade Stand” theme reminds me of Starbucks (and their prices and presentation) versus Tim Hortons (and their less pretentious set-up). I also like the newspaper headline that you have added – very clever! The Dad is reading a paper with the headline “Newspapers Obsolete…in many respects it seems that print newspapers may soon become obsolete…Dad isn’t keeping up with the times, so he also does not understand the “new style” of refreshment booths. Thanks!!

Maybe he can have a VIP section to his lemonade stand that you have to be on a list to go through but the drinks costs 2x as much.

I like the idea of not showing the adult faces, it’s a bit like not showing the teachers face on Peanuts or partially hiding Wilson’s face on Home Improvements. Keeps your attention focussed more on the storyline from the kids perspective as you say.

Shirtless bartender? What kind of classy establishment is this anyway lol
